Oscar de la Renta is known for his over-the-top luxury that celebrates the sheer hedonism of fine living (you either live in his clothes or you don't). I have never been dissapointed with his collections, and with good reason: instead of focusing on innovation, de la Renta focuses on intricate detailing, exceptional workmanship, and exquisite fabrics. His line ranged from the wearable day looks (as evidenced by this first subtlely sheened gray wonder) to more elaborate evening looks that assert his undeniable handiwork. Simply superb!1.
