What I Wore: Problem Solved

Turtleneck: Sisley
Skirt: Proenza Schouler (I wrote about this troublesome skirt earlier, and my tailor brilliantly inserted a hidden zipper but left the buttons as decoration. I can't tell you how easy this skirt suddenly became to wear!)
Unseen Leggings: Old Navy
Eel Knee Boots: Devi Kroell (these are fast becoming my favorite winter boots; the 2" heel makes these very comfortable)

Here's a close up of the boots and the sequin detailing on the skirt:

Thanks to all who are commenting. I really appreciate all of your kind words!

You look beautiful on your Proenza Schouler skirt. They have some really nice pieces coming out for spring and fall RTW. I always carry my Lanvin flat around in my bag in case I have to switch out. Hanh's Balenciaga space shoes is uncomfortable, so as soon as she gets in her car she switch out to different shoes. :) Most of the time we last on our high heels all day.You look fabulous... keep post more pictures of you and your outfits. I enjoy them a lot.
Have a beautiful weekend.

Your outfits are so lady-like. I should learn from you!

Also yes, I'm korean. I've added you to my list. Look forward to more of your posts in the future.

I agree with Brook, I should learn as well. Not to have lady-like outfits but the idea of making well thought out outfits. And the zipper idea is quite smart and it sounds like it should be much easier to wear now.

Dear Thumbelina,

I love reading your site! It is fabulous and savvy and I love your "What I Wore" section. I think you dress beautifully!

Thumbelina, I have a dress that has been sitting in my closet for awhile - it is the Rosie Dress from the Fall 2007 Shin Choi line. A picture of this dress can be found here: http://www.shinchoi.com/lookbook07.htm

I would like to wear this dress during the day - I work in a school and don't want to go sleeveless. I am wondering what to pair this dress with to make it more a day look. Do you have any suggestions?

Warmly,
A fan in Istanbul

Dear Fan in Istanbul,

Thanks a lot! The dress is beautiful--really rich and colorful. I'd pair it with a silver/gray jacket or cardigan to tone it down (it could be an evening dress too). A simple but fitted black jacket could also work.
