Of Fleas and Men

Brooklyn Flea Market (Click on the highlighted blue words for more info)
Saturdays: Fort Greene; Sundays: Brooklyn Bridge
~
I've been meaning to visit the Brooklyn Flea Market for some time now, and I finally did so today. If you're in the city or visiting on the weekend, I highly recommend it for excellent vintage buys.
~
For Texan lovers out there, Lillian Crowe's handmade jewelry conjures up a host of western associations:

Spines and rib cages, anyone?!

I was intrigued by the steer heads on these!

Ever since I posted about Tiffany's key necklaces some time ago, I've wanted one (but not the exorbitant price tag that comes with it). I saw these vintage keys and couldn't resist buying one for $5.

I added a chunky chain from Urban Outfitters.

I fell in love with these Gothic, moody, hand-carved wooden jewelry pieces made from recycled guitars by WRecords by Monkey. The owner was quite sweet and thrilled about the free advertising I promised!

I bought this chandelier pendant for quite a reasonable price.

Aren't these vintage children's books adorable?!

My husband and I went to Megu last night for dinner. This Buddha is made entirely of ice!
!
Have a wonderful weekend, everybody!

Hi Thumbelina! I miss going to flea markets...they were everywhere in Bangkok. I haven't gone to a single one yet in Minnesota. I really like the jewelry made from recycled guitars, too...that chandelier is so cool!

Love the key it looks so classy. And the wooden jewelry looks awesome. I love stuff made from guitars Once in this magazine I saw bracelets made from guitar strings. but because they were linked to specific guitarists. So they were unfortunately out of my price range. I would of loved one by Carlos Santana. I guess I'll just have to settle for his shoes for now.

Happy sunny sunday also to you, Miss Thumbelina Fashionista ;)

Enjoyed to see all your photos from the flea market! The key chain is adorable.
Do you know Lulu Frost? She did some lovely chains with "room numbers" from the Plaza Hotel.

That is sooo cool! But one thing: where in Brooklyn is it located? Just wondering because I would love to go sometime!

Thanks for this post

I'm in love with the spine necklaces!!!! :) Kinda weird, but awesome! Maybe if I wore it, it'd remind me to have more of a spine when standing up to people!
