Miscellaneous

Sweater top: Club Monaco
Necklace: Aldo
Skirt: Fendi
Pumps: YSL

Every now and then, my husband and I like to go to Cafe Katja in the Lower East Side for some amazing, hearty Austrian comfort food. It's quite the neighborhood gem.

Emmentaler sausage with savoy cabbage and quark dumplings

The amazing beet salad...I used to detest beets (I never ate them growing up), but I have grown to love them.

A freshly baked pretzel with some tear-inducing mustard sauce on the side (I swear there's wasabi in it!). And of course a meal would not be complete without a sweet and slightly bitter ambrosial drink.

We passed by this gnarled and misshapen tree outside of Le Petit Puppy, an upscale puppy pet shop on Christopher Street in the Village.

Quite arachnid and creepy...

On an unrelated note, a reader asked me about my favorite brands. I've separated them into categories:
~
For inexpensive and trendy items: H&M and Zara
For basics: Club Monaco and Old Navy
For whimsical clothes and shoes: Prada and Miu Miu
For professional investment clothing: Fendi, YSL, and Oscar de la Renta
For accessories (shoes, bags, and belts): YSL, Fendi, Guiseppe Zanotti, Bottega Veneta, Chanel
~
Thanks to everybody who visits my blog! I really appreciate it. Please let me know what you think in a comment. I'd love to hear from all of you.

I like this skirt! Bronzed tone?

It's nice to see a bit of your New York...and I love to eat...so the yummy food is making me hungry...I'll search for Austrian restos in my neighborhood so I can sample some of that sausage and pretzel.

Thanks for sharing your favorite brands!

I think the pretzel mustard is called Kren.. if it is it's made with horseradish, just like Wasabi! I love it, it's a specialty in Northern Italy too.
Luxe outfit BTW :D

Hey Miss Thumbelina,
how are you??
There is something about Austrian food which I like very much but even more with the years.... I wasn't a fan of hearty food before but it's rising.

The Fendi skirt is a very beautiful one!! You wear it very well!

The next points are very interesting, also for me, to think about my favorite labels etc.

For basics: Vince, James Perse, Rick Owens Lilies, MM6
For whimsical clothes and shoes: Maison Martin Margiela (all lines through)
For professional investment clothing: Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Lanvin, La Petite Salope, Rick Owens, Prada + vintage
For accessoiries: Maison Martin Margiela, Balenciaga, Guiseppe Zanotti, Lanvin, Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton

Much love always,
