What I Wore: Texture II (Black and Gold)

Leather Jacket: Mason
Short-sleeve sweater (underneath jacket): Club Monaco
Skirt: Oscar de la Renta
Croc Boots: Dior

When following a simple silhouette, I like to vary the textures of the garments I choose to complicate what initially appears simple.

A close up of the boots:

You astound me yet again. How you do it I don't know. The leather jacket has a bit of a biker or rougher element which I'm sure you're aware of as in. The skirt I love because of color design print and texture. And love the boots. Oh and as I mentioned before of personalizing the army style jacket, I thought of putting symbols and flags of countries I've worn it to. Does that sound like a good idea or is that kind of played out or done out before?

Amol--Thanks--it's great getting compliments! :) As for the army jacket--it's true it's been done before. BUT I think it depends on HOW you do it. (Frankly, there's nothing new under the sun.) What about sewing them along the front in parallel or slanted lines to mimic a lapel or a suit jacket? Along the bottom as a trim? Or down the middle as a stripe on the arms?

Those are great ideas. I was thinking in a line along the back one or two covering the thread bare spot that exists. That way it isn't so haphazard looking and helps with the problem there.

Hi Thumbelina-
You look so great. I used to work for Oscar de la Renta for a while and really appreciated all the haute couture work he done. I love your skirt a lot. I think the bright yellow small platform is a little boring but I think it's great to have. :)

I can't get over the beauty of de ODLR skirt; paired with the Dior boots, you've created magic. The biker jacket roughens up such a clean look, which I like. Kudos.
