What I Wore: Hard and Soft

Silk Cardigan: Banana Republic
Dress: Max Azria
Chain Necklace: H&M
Stingray Belt: Luca Luca
Tights: Spanx
Platforms: YSL

As you've probably noticed, I'm not exactly a chains/ripped clothes/leather kind of girl, but I try incorporating those elements in a softer--dare I say "ladylike"--way. I usually pair this dress, which reminds me of a worn '70s rug, with a edgier belt, like my black and gold stud belt or my medallion belt. The necklace, however, was edgy enough for the look so I chose a softer belt.

On a different note, I'd like to know what you would like to see more of in this blog: editorials? more "What I Wore" segments? advice? trend reporting? I'd like to know what I can do to keep you coming back and commenting! Thanks and have a great evening!
~
*UPDATE: Thanks for all of your wonderful, constructive advice. I will try and see how I can best make these improvements!

How about fab looks on movie, street picks, magazine articles, your view on trend, great stylist for old/young/man/woman & celebrity on TV/newspaper literature, knitting fashion, overall art, thrift shop adventure, and daily your observation on street & restaurant in NYC. I want to read more your brilliant writing about & beyond fashion.

Trends for both men and women and trends. And maybe having a pick of the week in different areas like. And as for the outfit, I love it all and the contrast of looking hard with feminine twists and curves.

I love this look and most of the looks on your blog. I love your style because it is elegant and edgy at the same time. Honestly, I only leave comment when I really like the look and have positive thing to say about it, and most often when I think the looks are hideous and thinking to myself what the heck this person is thinking I just keep my mouth shut. If I don't have anything good to say, the best thing is to say nothing right????

FFF I'm probably the opposite of you somewhat. If something doesn't look great on a fashion blog, I tend to speak up. In a nice way of course and usually complimenting something else. One of the things I can't stand is blowing smoke up someone's ass. I think alot of it is done because they want to be in good graces of the blogger and hope that in return they get a visit from them and a comment perhaps. Honesty is the best policy.

Thumbelina, I dig your blog just the way it is. The layout(background colors could stand to be a little more eyecatching, but kudos.

I like seeing your "What I Wore" posts, because you really have your own elegant style. It's refreshing not to see ripped denim shorts and Alexander Wang knock-offs.

hum..chain ripped clothes...you mean me? What kind of fantastic material is that dress made out of? Looks like feathers.

Ok things I want to read from you...I think some sort of visual is always key, reading straight text online can get dull. I love seeing your daily outfits, perhaps very unique findings in whatever would be nice too. I personally don't enjoy long posts on runway pics since I already browse most of them through style.com. Perhaps something more local, taking advantage of living in NYC (I don't do this myself but I should). Also every monitor is different but judging from a couple of different screens your lovely pictures are coming out with a overtone of yellow. Color correcting them a little I think will show case your outfits better.

Hi Thumbelina, I've just discovered you via H @ Candid Cool & love the blog the way it is - especially the 'what I wore' shots (& stories behind it). I've just started a blog & have been advised (esp by my husband) to stick just to street shots, but I like variety.

Since I can't find an email address for you, I hope you don't mind me writing this here, but I've just added your blog to my list on http://streetstylelondon.blogspot.com/ - please take a look - would love your feedback/advice. Whatever you're doing, it's working - keep it up! Thanks & good tidings.
