Hi Thumbelina,
On Nantucket you might try "Pearl," a lovely restaurant for the evening. For lunch (delicious sandwiches), Something Natural can't be beat. It's about one minute out of town. And if you like homemade ice cream, go to the Juice Bar down by the ferry.
My favorite clothing shops were Legends (despite the Bon Jovi-esque name) and Erica Wilson (of NYC's EW Upstairs).
The two bookstores in town are also extremely well edited. My favorite was on Broad St.
