Miu Miu spring 2010
Alexander McQueen spring 2010
Christian Cota spring 2010
Peter Som spring 2010
Traditionally, I've been a solids gal with a particular penchant for neutrals and the occasional, but conservative, bright hue. Lately, however, I've found myself gravitating towards all things psychedelic, tribal, and animal. With the newfound surge of optimism that dominated the spring runways--and, for some, the stock market--, designers and shoppers alike have bought into the hope that prints sartorially represent. The ubiquitous leopard print from fall has now evolved into something wilder, something freer: eccentric pattern mixing; feral and tamed animals alike coexisting; and ladylike and hyperbolic floral versions. My most recent purchases testify to this attraction: a tiger-print bubble skirt from Miu Miu, a leopard-print camisole from YSL, a green and gray cubist blouse from Christian Cota, and an asymmetrical zebra sweater from a local boutique. And with the lure of these gorgeous spring prints, I have a feeling that this attraction won't end anytime soon.

Hey darling,
how were the Christmas holidays? I hope you've spent a cheerful and magnificent time with your loved ones.
Oooooh yessss.... Colors and prints in SpringSummer 2010 are brighten up the mood! Christian Cota is new to me, thanks for bringing my attention to his designs! I can't wait for MIU MIU.... The collection is so wonderful :-D
Also Peter Som is so cool! His designs are still too underestimated in my view - He deserves a lot more attention and editorials.
That being said - I think we're about to expect the bursting of another bubble although the mood is getting better... :-S Crazy markets...
Hi Thumbelina!
Oh what a lovely surprise to see you did a new post today... no... yesterday ;)
How was your christmas time? I hope you have still some time to relax!

I'm really loving prints these days as well. Hoping to incorporate more of that in my wardrobe for 2010. Hope you, hubs and family have a wonderful New Year!!! xx
Hey there Thumbelina!
Wishing you a GREAT 2010!!!! Enjoy tonight and the every day!
I particularly like the top print (it reminds me of the balloon at the end of Valentino's 45th year celebration) and the Christian Cota print. Sometimes a stunning print can be a terrific neutral.
gorge prints ,adore the McQueen!
Happy new year darling! Wishing you the best of the New Year! Hope you had a lovely New Year's Eve, I just posted my adventures from seeing the New Year in.
Big kiss honey
xx
Marian.
Mmm...I love prints, and was so happy to see designers embracing them for Spring. Especially Miu Miu's version, I adore animal prints (animal as in tiny animals, not like leopard ;) ).
Hello my dear! I love all the outfits you've posted here, particularly the Peter Som ensemble. I adore that coat!
Also just wanted to let you know that if you haven't received the PH8 jacket yet, not to worry! I just checked in with the PR person and she said she's just waiting to receive sizes, and will most likely be sending them out to all the winners this week!
Happy new year!! :)
Great selection ! Toatlly loving your pics.
Please come and have a look at my blog too.
I hope to see you soon.
As a traditionally solids girl too, these prints are enticing.
Is it spring yet?
Totally agree, that's what I'm predicting, too. Beautifully written. I've missed you (i.e., your blog), Thumbie ; )
Hope you had a lovely lovely Christmas/New Year. I know you're busy but I'm glad you're posting even a little - it's quality, not quantity! Hope to meet you this summer.
Actually when I next post something with patterns, I'm going to refer & link to this post. xx

Have a beautiful day in NY!!!
Great post on prints! Love the title, too. I have also been knows to gravitate toward neutrals with the occasional pop of color... but here lately I can't get enough patterned clothes/accessories!
