RM by Roland Mouret Zephyr Wool Jacket

  1. Hi there! I've actually been looking for a not-so-basic black jacket or blazer...I'm definitely leaning (just 'leaning' coz can't afford to pay $1,700 for it!) towards the Mouret piece with its gold zipper details and that amazing collar.

  2. Heeeelllooooo hotties....
Yes, these biker jackets are very, very fabulous! The Roland Mouret jacket is uber-cool! And the Willow jacket is having a very dramatic 80ies touch - but I love them both!
Great! Plus . I can imagine you wearing all of them (no, not together...) with your lovely skirts. The Prada one, the Marni skirt - also to your fabulous dresses - like to the Max Azris in your previous post. Hard decision, to me you're the coolest babe of all! much love, sofie

  3. That first jacket is amazing. =) I love the zippers and the color and how it's assymetrical. =) Plus, it would look nice with pants or a skirt.

  5. love love love your recent picks and how you style them, as usual. have a question, though. recently ventured into prada boutique - bought a couple pair of fab shoes - such a comfy fit - and tried on some gorgeous skirts - the cut and fit were perfect BUT - (for me - shock!) NO LINING! do your beautiful prada skirts have linings? if not, does this not bother you?

  6. Rachel: Missing lining really annoys me, and Prada is known to do that on some of her stuff. Thankfully the lace skirt has lining (the skirt has holes in it as a result of the lace fabric) and most of the other Prada/Miu Miu pieces I have do have lining. I do have one summer dress that doesn't have it, though, in which case I pull out my trusty nude Spanx piece for coverage.

Of course, it depends on the piece. Generally I try to avoid buying high-end pieces that don't have lining. But sometimes the piece is so fantastic that I overlook it.

  7. The Willow one is so you! I can already imagine you posing with it on! However, the Mouret one has more of an edgy cool vibe to it!

    Choices, choices! =)

  8. Happy sunny friday to you, Thumbelina.

Do you expect in NYC also such a hot and humid day, today?
I love especially the first biker jacket!!

Is it only me? ... since Net-a-Porter started to show their pieces on real models some of these items look not like "please buy me" ;)

Wishing you a wonderful relaxing and joyful weekend ahead!!!

  9. thanks, thumbelina, for your thoughts. this is something that makes shopping so difficult... often have to choose between style (cut, the 'fashion' of a pretty thing) and the quality of the details (lining, stitching, buttons, etc.)... tho, frankly at prada no excuse. if i am going to pay that much for a skirt, it should hide all lines and bumps with a lining (no other extra undergarments required)... the saleswoman said the fabric didn't need a lining, but i've seen that same fabric in many other stores, with lining and to better effect. according to a good friend of mine, many designers are surviving the economic downturn by sacrificing on quality of fabric, which makes a lining even more important this year... maybe next year not so much.
    ok, enough ranting
    awesome blog!

  20. Hey Thumb,

I LOVE those bracelets, love the look, and soon as I get a minute, I want to check out Marian's blog because that shot of her with the yellow nail polish & bracelets is so cool. Isn't it great the way an idea (multi silver bracelets) can just kind of flit around the globe?

Been meaning to write sooner as I still haven't figured out when I'm coming into the city. Will visit Lynn's blog, too - I really want to meet you both. A lot of my friends I can see (& have seen) out on the island. It's funny my husband said 'but if you don't go into the city this trip, you won't meet Thumblina Fashionita! : )

Love the idea of that slam story thing.

    xoxo
